7 Ways to double (or even triple) your sales without increasing your traffic

Many people feel they have to spend a lot of money to increase their sales. Althought shelling out a lot of cash may get results, there are plenty of ways to increase sales without resorting to opening your wallet.

1. Offer a free eBook or other incentive to anyone who views your website.
In return, you can ask them for their name and email address, or for more information if you choose. The less information you ask for, though, the more likely they'll go for it. One way to be sure your prospect is giving you a valid email address is to send your free incentive to them over email. This not only ensures that they'll give you a valid email address, but it also makes the potential customer feel better about giving you their email address. This is hands down the very best way to increase your sales!! You will have built a mailing list, and with a mailing list, you can do so much.

2. Full-screen pop-behind window
Include a full-screen pop-behind window in your html code, that opens an entirely different webpage. This can be an affiliate site, or a different page that you operate. Either way, when a potential customer leaves your site, a new window is right there for them to view. The most effective way to utilize this tip is to have the second window offer an unrelated product. If they weren't interested in the first product, chances are they won't be interested in a similar one.

3. Offer bigger bonuses if they try to leave.
Have an exit window offering even more incentives and adding bonuses to your product. Make your customer an offer they can't refuse. If your potential customer is leaving your site, they are about to no longer be a potential customer. You have nothing to lose by offering them discounts, extra bonuses, anything to keep them on your site and buying from you. You can even offer to not charge their credit card for a period of time, to ensure that they are satisfied with your product or service.

4. Offer a money-back guarantee
This is huge!! All consumers are wary of shelling out their hard earned money on anything that they cannot be sure will work. This is even more true on the internet, where it is hard to know who you are dealing with. Offering a money-back guarantee alleviates some of these fears by assuring the potential customer that they won't pay if they are unsatisfied for any reason.

5. Test multiple pages selling the same product
This tip is a little more complicated that the others, but it can have long-term benefits. The look, style, and text in your sales page can have a huge effect on whether people buy or not. In additiona, offering incentives or money-back guarantees can have a huge effect as well. The only way to tell which sales page is the best is to track data for all of them. The least expensive way to do this is to use asp or cgi code to randomly direct visitors from your main page to one of the test sites. Track what the users to each site do, how long they stay, how many of them buy, and how many of them sign up for a newsletter. This information is vital to continuing success on the internet.

6. Create an eBook with links to your services
Tip #1 was to give away an incentive like a free eBook. You can profit even more if that eBook is beneficial to your business specifically. The best way to do this is to have an article in the eBook about why products such as yours are so great, and include a link back to your site. You can also include affiliate links in this eBook, to profit from others' sales. Anything that gets potential customers back to your site is a good idea.

7. Put advertisements on your site
Sign up as an affiliate for similar products to yours, and advertise them on your website. One drawback is having a potential customer forego your product or service for one they saw advertised on your site. On the other side of the coin, it is usually useless to advertise unrelated products on your site, as they generally don't have a high click-through margin. Play around with this, and find what works best for you.
